It’s the second week of 2018, and I hope you’ve been able to keep up your gaming as the world resets itself with goals of diet, exercise, and quitting this or that. It’s important to our hearts and souls to leave time for play!
This week our table has seen a game of Piratas–published by our Brazilian friends Geeks N’ Orcs, Pocket Ops, Coconuts, The Game of 49, half a game of Power Grid, as well as some prototypes. Here’s a picture of one of them, Van1ty Pl8 by Andrew Nastase of Loial Games
It occurred to me that it might be nice to give you, as a fan of the Guild, an overview of our coming year. Without further ado…
We’re very proud of our Three Musketeers: Unreal Estate, Stroop, and Pocket Ops. Sales have been strong and consistent. We plan to have some additional content for each our games for convention season. Those bits are being prepared as we speak, and we’ll let you in on more when we can.
As you are well aware, we launch Endeavor on Jan 30, and follow up with Endangered in early April. Endeavor won a spot among the Top 20 Most Anticipated Games of 2018, which is crazy exciting. Now final voting begins, and we’d ask you to give us a check mark in the Overall, Reprint, Strategy, Euro, and Historical categories. Vote here!
After we bid “Bon Voyage!” to the Endeavor Kickstarter, the Endangered Kickstarter will follow in April. And towards the end of the year, the plan is to Kickstart The Artemis Project (formerly titled Colonies of Venus). There’s a lot to tell you about TAP–where I found it, the Designers behind it, and who’s doing the art–so stay tuned for those tidbits. We are still hard at work developing Lost Vegas and Godai, as well as some other designs that we are keeping in our sights, but to which we’ve not made a contractual commitment.
We’re going to maintain pretty much the same schedule as 2017, with one significant addition*. Here’s the plan:
- GAMA Trade Show, Las Vegas NV, March
- Breatkout, Toronto, Canada, March
- Geekway to the West, St. Louis MO, May*
- Origins, Columbus OH, June
- Gen Con, Indianapolis IN, August
- Essen Spiel, Essen Germany, October
- PAX Unplugged, Philadephia PA, Nov/Dec
So that’s how things look. We’ve already had some in-store events, and we’ll continue to wave the banner for tabletop gaming locally and when we travel, and maybe attend other cons when the opportunity is right.
We love it when we can find a chance to share awesome gaming experiences with the community like this Dad v Son face-off at our Out of the Box Kentwood. “Pocket Ops & Prototypes” event.
We’re looking forward to an awesome 2018! Head down to the comments below and let us know what you’re excited about in the coming year.
